Our people are our key asset. We are actively looking for good people with real technical knowledge and good industry experience with the intellectual and personal skills and attributes necessary to deliver sound advice to clients.

We specialise in helping clients solve difficult – and interesting – problems. We are looking for people who thrive on intellectual challenge, conduct a thorough analysis of a problem and translate that into practical and constructive advice on a solution. So we set high standards.

While the discipline isn't important, you need to be educated to good first degree level as a minimum.

You also need to have – and to be able to demonstrate – a really strong understanding of the UK financial regulatory system, in particular the FSA Handbook. We don't expect you to know the whole Handbook by heart, but we do expect you to be able to show that you know your way round the Handbook as a whole, and to demonstrate real in depth knowledge of the requirements and their practical application in a fair number of specific areas. You need to understand how the Handbook relates to the relevant UK primary and secondary legislation and European directives, and to be able to demonstrate a deeper understanding of specific legislation where that is relevant to a particular role.

You also need to demonstrate that you have a good understanding of at least a couple of regulated business sectors. Generally we'd expect this to be based on direct experience of working in or with businesses in those sectors. We cover a wide field but are currently looking particularly for experts in fund management, broking and trading and home finance and general insurance mediation.

You need first class communication skills. We'll ask you to do a written exercise as part of our assessment process, and we'll be testing both your oral and non-verbal communication skills at interview.

And most important – you need get up and go. We want people who are committed to what they do and want to make a real contribution to Bovill's growth and success.

In return we offer a stimulating working environment and the opportunity to work with a team with extensive regulatory experience, as well as competitive salary, performance-related bonus and generous flexible benefits package including pension, private medical insurance, life assurance and minimum 23 days holiday.
