Real Estate Funds
Our close relationship with the property sectors (see our dedicated page on Property) means that we are very familiar with a wide range of regulatory issues relevant to real estate funds and their managers.
We have assisted firms with perimeter advice in relation to whether proposed property or land schemes, or even hotel room investments, are likely to be considered collective investment schemes. Where a firm's proposed activities do fall within the scope of FSMA, we have become involved in assisting with applications for FCA authorisation.
In relation to regulated funds we have assisted clients secure authorisation of PAIFs (Property Authorised Investment Funds).
We also work with the Association of Real Estate Funds (AREF), a leading industry trade association who are known as an influential spokesperson for the UK real estate funds industry. Members include well-known authorised fund managers, funds and related organisations. Bovill also sit on the AREF regulatory committee which comprises leading figures within the sector.
