Compliance arrangements in retail banking groups bring together a large number of different regulatory requirements with challenging interrelationships and areas of potential overlap. We have direct experience of working with compliance functions in major retail banking and building society groups, at both strategic and technical level.
In addition to FCA regulatory requirements, our team has detailed knowledge of requirements under the Banking Codes, Consumer Credit Act, Data Protection Act and Money Laundering Regulations. Examples of our work in this area include:
- working with executive teams to define and implement approaches to Treating Customers Fairly (TCF);
- helping firms set strategic direction in relation to remedial work relating to compliance weaknesses around the sale of Payment Protection Insurance;
- providing subject matter expert input into workshops to refine and develop direct sales processes;
- management of large scale regulated complaint handling projects.
