Asia Newsletter | August 2022

NEWSLETTER: I am delighted to be bringing you our Asia newsletter this month from a slightly different perspective, over six weeks into my new CEO role.

You will know if you are a follower of previous newsletters we continue to keep a close eye on trends in the global crypto/virtual assets sector; the latest update on Hong Kong’s proposed regime for regulation of this sector is an important update for those impacted or interested.

There are some interesting scope inclusions (such as the FATF Travel Rule requirements) and together the overall package will make this one of the most comprehensive frameworks currently proposed by a regulator globally.

Make sure you also check out our upcoming online event on the new SEC marketing rule, impacting advisers registered with the SEC. Our US team will be on hand to explain the important changes coming and answer your burning questions.

It would be remiss of me not to point out our article on MAS data, highlighting the speed and likelihood of successful CMI license applications in Singapore. We are also seeing the same trend of an uptick in new applicants, with the regulator explicitly highlighting the importance of having a specialist advisor like Bovill to support applications. Do reach out if it would help you to draw on our experience and expertise.
