Bovill appoints new Prudential Practice Lead

NEWS RELEASE: Global financial services regulatory consultancy Bovill announces that Rick Seehra, who has previously worked for both the FCA and PRA, has joined the firm as its new Prudential Practice Lead.

Rick, who will be based in Bovill’s London office, has over 10 years’ experience of working across banking and regulation. He joins Bovill from Standard Chartered Bank, where he was a Director of Recovery and Resolution planning for four and a half years. Rick has worked in the UK Banks and Building Societies Division at the FCA as well as the UK Banks and Mutuals Division at the PRA. He specialises in prudential risk and corporate governance.

Rick Seehra, Practice Lead at Bovill, commented:

I’m delighted to be joining the team at Bovill and take the reins of their well-established prudential practice. I look forward to helping clients understand the regulators’ perspective based on my first-hand experience.

As the UK starts its journey as an independent jurisdiction, this is an important and exciting time for the financial services sector, with many regulatory changes to come. And with the economic fallout of the pandemic still to be fully realised, prudential regulation is more important than ever.”

Ben Blackett-Ord, CEO of Bovill, added:

“We are very pleased to welcome Rick to our team. Our prudential practice will be boosted by his expertise, and in particular his experience working for the regulators. His contribution will enrich our understanding of the regulator’s current expectations and help create better outcomes for our clients.

“This knowledge and expertise is crucial for our clients at such a pivotal moment in both UK and international financial services history, with both the implications of Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic to be navigated.”
