Number of FCA interventions in financial promotions has fallen – Bovill featured in Financial Times

The fall in FCA interventions in financial promotions is a positive sign, according to Bovill’s Mark Spiers in this week’s FT.

The Financial Times story focused on the collapse of London Capital & Finance, whose promotion of mini-bonds created confusion among investors. Bovill’s research shows that the number of FCA interventions in financial promotions has fallen over recent years. Mark went on to highlight that although the numbers have fallen, there are still around four problematic promotions per week – so there is more to do to ensure communications are clear, fair and not misleading.
