Abi joined Bovill in May 2017 after nearly five years as a Consultant at a competitor providing Compliance advice to hedge funds, private equity managers, corporate finance boutiques and proprietary traders.
Prior to that Abi spent 18 years as in-house Compliance at UBS, seven years at the Investment Bank and then ten years in Wealth Management as Managing Director, Head of Risk and Compliance for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Abi started in the City at the time of Big Bang working for the London Stock Exchange before TSA (as was) had even come into being! Thirty years on and she can trace the evolution of Financial Services regulation from the various scandals that have taken place over those years and aims to provide straightforward, practical advice to firms to explain the current regulatory climate in a clear way.
Abi read English at Cambridge University and briefly taught English and Drama at secondary school level. She maintains her interest in Education by being a Trustee of Skillforce , an educational charity largely staffed by military veterans that has just launched the Prince William Award.
