Ben is a Consultant in Bovill’s Prudential team, bringing with him over 11 years of experience in regulatory strategy and capital management gained at top and mid-tier global financial services firms.
Prior to joining Bovill, Ben held a number of positions spanning Regulatory Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Capital Management and Risk, focusing on credit risk prudential regulation in both Retail and Wholesale banking.
Most recently Ben was a Senior Manager at Lloyds Banking Group specialising in credit risk capital management and strategy, advising on emerging credit risk regulations and capital optimisation across the full range of consumer lending products. This included the UK’s largest mortgage portfolio, unsecured lending, revolving credit and motor financing.
Ben has also held roles at RBS, Barclays Capital, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Standard Bank, having worked extensively on the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), Recovery and Resolution Planning (living wills) including the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD) and Pillar 3 disclosures. Ben also has specific expertise and a specialist interest in crowdfunding and Peer 2 Peer (P2P) lending.
Ben graduated from Manchester University in 1999 with a Masters in Electronic Engineering and is also a chartered accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
